The Winnipeg Gallery was the first new permanent exhibition space at the Manitoba Museum in over 15 years. This gallery reveals the history and unique character of the city of Winnipeg, and explores the places, people, and stories that helped shape it.
From Indigenous peoples to early immigrants, the people of Winnipeg’s history have their stories told through various historical artifacts as well as integrated multimedia. This gallery was created in close consultation with Indigenous advisors and immigration teams, to accurately integrate the experiences and history of these groups.
Immersive and interactive feature of this gallery include dynamic touch screen map tables, a theatre for a timeline film of Winnipeg’s history, a Personalities Wall showcasing 30 significant individuals from Winnipeg’s history, and various artifact cases including a 7 meter-long display case.
