Red Pine Lodge at The Canyons was becoming too small for the enthusiastic crowds it was entertaining. This is an intimate mountaintop lodge in a heavily visited resort and needed a more efficient foot traffic system to avoid congestion and keep its food and beverage operation running smoothly. With a second-floor expansion, additional reconfiguration of the facility’s basic footprint and an expanded entranceway already underway, 3DS was able to design a much more efficient space model for the main floor servery and dining area.
Following an aesthetic objective of “rustic mountain elegance”, we gave the space a contemporary wood and corrugated steel design, which blended seamlessly with existing fixtures and details. In the process, 3DS also rebranded the lodge, with an earthy, rugged brand identity. The result has been doubled flow-through traffic and increased sales by a significant margin.
